About
I’m an Internal Medicine doctor based in New York. I received my M.D. from the University of Rochester and my M.F.A. from the Columbia Writing Program, where I was a McCrindle Fellow.
I write about medicine and literature, with a focus on the stories of marginalized patients and healthcare workers. My work has appeared in The Guardian, Literary Hub, Scientific American, and more. My essay, “The Hateful Patient,” was a runner-up for the Missouri Review’s Perkoff Prize in 2026. Intima nominated my story “The Halo” for a Pushcart Prize in 2021, and later published it in Donna Bulseco’s 2026 anthology Where It Hurts. The Rumpus nominated my essay “How to Feed a Dying Body” for Best American Essays in 2025.
In addition to essays, I’m working on my debut book, a novel set in Brooklyn's Eighth Avenue Chinatown about a man who can’t leave his home after the death of a close friend.
